New Leipzig based label Ortloff opens its doors for business with this four-track EP fronted by Marko Furstenberg, whose ‘Far Out’ is a lively dub-techno affair, carried by a rubbery stab riff, morphed by a modulated delay. It;s a fairly simple track but the production is bang on the money, with a keenly organic sense of development behind it. Mod.

Civil’s contribution takes a not dissimilar approach, albeit with a little more flamboyance, taking the structuring tropes of reflective dub-techno and elaborating with resonant rhythmic elements and glistening synths. Sevensol & Bender’s ‘Space Jam’ is a little jazzier in approach, warping rhodes-style keys into a warm, satisfying spin while CHeslo breaks from the pack via fast and brittle electro-house.
