Release Note :
Smallpeople member Dionne pops up on French imprint Terpsiton with some delicious late night house that contains just the right balance between deep chug and techy groove. Opening track “The Xchange” fits snugly across the entire A-Side, characterised by a pleasing thump and addictive, nagging bassline. The B-Side opens with a remix – or in this case a recollage, of “Siege Twelve” by
Christopher Rau. If you slept on Rau’s productions in 2010, make it your New Year’s resolution to check out his small but hugely impressive back catalogue. Rounding off the release is an overt homage to the Motor City, with a twinkling late night shuffle forming beneath a looped up vocal mouthing “Detroit”. It’s hardly a new concept but it works
