Maxime Dangles – Mentor EP – Maxime Dangles makes his long awaited return to Break New Soil with a strong four track package full of Techno madness. With the “Mentor EP” the French man focuses on a raw and untamed approach, away from cheap sensationalism and effect overdosage. Maxime’s title track “Mentor” represents all of the above in an impressionable way. This peak time weapon aims for maximum damage. A throbbing synth pattern morphs it’s way throughout this beast of a track and is backed by a thumping groove programming. “Junehaha” is deep, weird and full of energy! Maxime stirs abstract sounds and dark atmospheric layers into one explosive mix.

“Grillon D’Amour” is drenched in droning, rolling bass and super-snappy beats, moodily stomping it’s way through trippy synth lines and mind-bending FX. You’ll find some low end funk in there as well! Dangles closes out the EP with the swirling “Kalke” track. The rhythm is typically taut of a Maxime Dangles tech stomper, with frenzied synths anchored by swathes of infinitely undulating bass and carefully crafted percussive patterns. Filtered breakdowns heighten the tension, momentarily reigning back the power of this meaty track before it thunders back into life.
