Cosmobox Direct DownloadsThis morgen.ep is musically our most ingenious release produced by our family’s newest addition Olaf Stuut. His originals are all strong main characters in this 3-track story with a riveting retouch by Ryan Davis and a deep adaptation by Some Chemistry.
The warm welcoming Summate promises an ep with both energetic beats as well as the easy listening stuff. A relaxing but steady rolling rhythm accompanied by feel good percussion is the foundation for ecstatic melodic synth progressions crossing each other over and defining Summate.
Sovenance is an intriguing piece of music with smooth and crispy live percussions. A sound that makes up the image of a drone animal talking with its robotic voice and being answered by clear and strong melodies in this musically animated dialog.
A beautiful musical outro to the ep, See The 3’s For The Forest, is gently leaving you to relax after the more powerful Summate, Sovenance and its intense remixes. The complexities of the musical elements form a harmony that gives Olaf’s music the soul of songs, rather than tracks. Note the bird sounds in this one.
Honoured to have an inspirational artist like Ryan Davis on the remix, he added great value to the ep. He introduces a strong drive and some mysterious elements in the beginning of his remix. When it looks like the dark is taking over halfway, Ryan reveals his dreamy trademark and brings back the harmony of Olaf’s original idea.
In between the complexity of this music story telling, Some Chemistry’s remix is a deep and intense interpretation that stripped Sovenance into a tantalizing piece. With a bass line that makes you vibrate and a sweet slapped snare, the break builds to a climax that might leave you with less than hoped for, but more than you need.
