Release review | UYD017 Fideles – What I Show To You [Upon You Records]

Making waves since 2010 with a steady stream of releases on a wide range of labels including Impulsa Records, Ritual Records, Wasabi Recordings or Suara the Italian duo Fideles better known as Danylo Aprile and Mario Roberti to thier parents have finally touched down at Upon.You Digital, serving a great set of summer vibes that’s accompanied by a sweet remix workout created by our man Loquace, head of his own Earlydub imprint and part of the Upon.You family since 2012 with two well acclaimed EP contributions to our back catalogue so far.

With the title track What I Show To You the two Italian producers roll things out on top of a deep, fever’ish, seductive and sexually charged bassline that is a super solid foundation for tempting, pitch-altered vocal bits and a steady ride on slightly delayed sawtooth synths a masterly crafted fusion of reduction and ultimate climax that brings out the best of both worlds. Remixed by our french fellow Loquace we see the transformation of What I Show You into a warm, gentle summer breeze perfectly fitting for long terrace sets and endless open air sessions.

The rhythm is pumping, the vocal bits are psychedelicly twisted to a well tripping effect, sweet string layers set the tone and occasional, poignant guitar notes introduce a bit of a balearic feel to his rework. Taking over bubbling late night crowds with the stripped down Inside Me Fideles are fusing their love for dark and pumping, kinda Minimal House flavored structures with the occasional, far-flung rave stab reminiscing synth work here that caters coruscant moments of love and uplifting happiness to sweat-covered, shady dancefloors. Finally Green Eyes calls out for a more hypnotic vibe with its ever moving background synth swell, demanding hi-hats and deep, dark, whispering vocals implying that this HypnoTech rollercoaster ride is a never ending one.
