More From This Label

The ‘Four’ EP is a collaborative effort between Danny Daze and four friends he admires, on the brand new Omnidisc imprint. With each track standing apart as unique in its own right, Daze effortlessly shows off the various sides of his multifaceted production style, living up to his description from Mixmag as ‘one of the most diverse and forward-thinking producers in the world’.

First up is ‘Las Caderas’, produced alongside Seattle-based producer 214, who has previous excursions on the likes of Hypercolour and Frustrated Funk. The track sets the tone with gritty, almost industrial-sounding stabs, a tectonic bass undertow, and drums that hit with ballistic precision.

Making a complete about turn, Miami newcomer Deroboter helps to produce the warm, heavenly ‘Drowning’. Its ethereal choir samples and shimmering synths are sure to strike a chord with even the most stern-faced of techno aficionados.

Picking up the pace once again, ‘Hex’ with Drvg Cvltvre, goes in hard with a coarse boom-bap beat, gnarled sub-bass volleys and an assembly of warped, hellish synths which twist and warp around like a menacing swarm of hornets.

Rounding off the EP is ‘Chain Breaker’ with Russian born, Comemé Records affiliate, Philipp Gorbachev. It’s a slow burning beast, with a swelling, corrugated low-end, pulsating leads and a stripped-back, almost skeletal beat.
