After a number of stunning remixes for UJR, we’re proud to bring Germany’s ‘Nikolas Noam’ on board again, but this time with his debut EP. “Camilla Rhodes EP”, a two-track release, marks Nikolas’ entry and does so with a bang. Kicking off the EP with “U Got Me”, Nikolas throws in heavy bouncy grooves, a dark drone bass-line that counter’s the lightness of the lush vocal lines, blipped crispy notes and delayed lead lines, creating a gorgeous potpourri of emotions. Perfect for the darker summers. The second original, “Camilla Rhodes”, heads towards the more sinister & serious side with it’s hypnotic melodic lines, upfront chugging bass-line and soft pads lingering in the background. To make it an all-star German team on the release, we decided to get “Krink” as the first remixer to have a go at “U Got Me”. Finding his home in the deeper sides of House & Techno, Krink turns his remix into his own, with washed hats and detuned synths building up, creating an ominous atmosphere right before it takes a break with mangled vocal samples only to continue building right back up with the warm raw sounds. The second and final remix comes from the highly sought-after – Jacob Phono. With recent releases on Audiomatique, Heinz and even Cocoon, Jacob’s tough teachier music isn’t for the faint hearted. With his remix, he aims straight for the floor with tight dub grooves, glitchy fx and subtle melodic breaks. Vibes Union Jack Records
