March 2017’s “Lost Again” once again saw Canadian Tim Penner at his vibrant best. With its beautiful melodic phrasing and glorious vocal layers, the title track was a highlight in Proton Music’s release schedule, going on to see remixes from Subandrio and Simos Tagias. As Yin and Yang now return to the EP, two new interpretations from the USA and Russia provide renewed anticipation.

Burning brightly in early 2018, New York City’s Mir Omar “Suddenly” hit the headlines for Solarstone’s Pure Progressive imprint. Seeing his work supported by the leading DJ elite including Hernan Cattaneo and Aly & Fila, Omar himself is no stranger to life behind the decks as his sets “create the perfect catalyst to intoxicate a crowd.” With appearances at such famous NYC hotspots as Cielo, Output and Schimanski, Mir Omar looks set to continue his impressive DJ career with further success in the production arena.

Making his debut for Yang, the Mir Omar remix has all the hallmarks of a gloriously smooth and emotive piece that revels with coruscating string sequences that herald Tim’s vocal lines. Using the melodies central to the original, Mir’s remix extends them into new and exciting directions as they build in the breakdown before erupting in the third movement with a heavy kick and subatomic bassline. A ticking percussive cadence adds further interest in a remix that is an exciting glimpse of the U.S. producer’s future.
