East Berliner Alfred Heinrichs brings his flair for melodic techno to Kuukou with two robust techno pieces, joined by label head Simina Grigoriu and mysterious techno duo The YellowHeads on remix duties.
Mini Me kicks off gradually, simmering into a full speed Techno smasher, with a spellbinding kick drum and a straightforward bassline. Heinrichs’s penchant for melodicity shows off shortly, as the melody uncovers itself as playful and sonorous, ridden with glistening arpeggiated synths. It’s a full-on dancefloor weapon, with highly enticing dark bass elements.
Dreamcatcher shows off a lighter side of the Techno spectrum, albeit equally commanding in its bass prowess. Gleaming synths make for an inviting intro, swiftly followed by an array of assertive drums that takes hold of the lead.
