Some crazy talent is out there, and We Are The Brave has showcased some of them in recent months, and the next release from Uhnknwn is one for the books.
“uhnknwn is a brand-new project from an emerging talent who I’ve been impressed with for a couple of years. It’s all very hush hush and mysterious who he is, but I like that. It creates a certain type of creative space and freedom, and I really get why that is important” says Alan
It opens with the title track ’Alpha In The Warm’ – a dreamy vocal downtempo cut, reminiscent of late 90s UK house beats. Alan couldn’t help but get his hands on this track and lay down some seriously thick acid filth, with a chunky kick it takes the original into rave territory.
“I wanted my track to deliver a sound that was conceived without influence from the mainstream, monotonous followings that society seems to be so stuck on. Alpha in the warm for me demonstrates the beginning of something really important – music with no stage. I hope, be the start of a new movement: let’s get off our screens and back to the rave” – Uhnknwn
Vocals reign throughout this release whether ethereal on ‘Starlight Unit’, alongside its rolling low end or a little creepy and distorted in ‘By My Side’ with deep sub harmonic lows and brooding synthetic patterns.
“I’ve been hanging on to this one for ages to make sure the timing was right and now is the time. I feel the four tracks make up a really strong debut for uhnknwn” adds Alan.
