Get Physical Music kick off 2019 in fine fashion with an EP from Karol XVII & MB Valence that includes standout remixes by Lake People, Jimpster and Jackspeare.
The Polish pair have more than ten years in the game behind them. They are producers, DJs, composers and sound engineers who have been previously recognised by DJ MAG as the best Polish DJs and have also been nominated for The Beatport Music Awards as Best Deep House Artists. They run Loco Records and have released on a wealth of others.
First up here is Jackspeare who has released on Loco and Island Moods. His Original Interpretation of ‘Aqua’ is a deep, spine tingling track with mellifluous chords and a pensive mood. It’s a sensitive offering that brings real emotion to house music.
Deep house don Jimpster runs the mighty Freerange label and has been setting the agenda for many years. He has a richly detailed style that is lush with musicality. His fine remix here shows that with glowing keys and wallowing synths, deft little hooks and rolling drums that sink you into a reverie.
Lake People are just as celebrated in the realm of deep electronic music with plenty of key releases on Permanent Vacation and Connaisseur Recordings. They make the drums much heavier, but they hit with warmth and bounce, and when paired with the sustained chords and rising sense of emotion, make for a driving and dynamic track that will make a real impact in sensitive ways.
Last of all comes the original version, which is a stunning track with slowed down drums and a late night and romantic feel that is utterly enchanting. It’s the sort of beautiful piece with which to open a set and immediately set a tender mood.
This is a fantastic EP of truly resonant deep house music.
