The fifth release from London based minimal label, Hossh Records.
Since his first release back in 2016, Brazilian Arthus has charged between labels with his groove heavy minimal sounds finding homes on well regarded imprints like Rewired and Metroline Limited. This tidy four tracker includes a remix from Devv, who’s been making waves on the thriving Canadian underground house scene.
There’s a hypnotic melody combined with crisp, snappy percussion in the title track Catuaba that calls out to the minimally, early morning afters crew. Igarapé is a more grooved out affair with sounds reminiscent of Arthus’ native Brazilian jungle intertwined with a warm bass line while K240 offers a shuffling, lighter production with floaty fx and calming pads. Devv comes in with a slightly meaner take on K240 finishing off a solid after hours dancefloor orientated EP.
