“The original Destiny’s Child version of this song came with house remixes from Maurice Joshua & Paul Johnson. They were solid but, for me, not a patch on the original. I was excited when Moreno decided to record a version because I could get to imagine a house version of my own. I started – much like Maurice – with live bass & Fender Rhodes. For some reason, it was not working. I had found a chord progression that fitted, but any bass I added felt pedestrian. At that point, I threw the classic house rulebook out the window and decided to go full-on melodic. So I fired up all my favourite synths and arpeggiators, and this is what came out.” Kevin McKay March 2021.//
