And they are back once again. Of course we are talking about Eins Tiefer, the famed duo comprised of Vincent Probst and Nico Bulla, who are set and well ready to unleash their latest musical outing via Upon. You Records these days which is their four track single called „Retrograde”.
Starting their musical journey with „Sliced” the dynamic duo comes in on a surprisingly deep and tender tip, fusing a slow, yet still TechHouse-leaning foundation with super soft, carefully arranged pad structures and multiple layers of African chants – a combination for late night sets in small, intimate club settings and defo one that might cause a bit of an Ambient House revival to come, transferring this classic term into a new and contemporary context.
Subsequently Eins Tiefer are bringing forth „Flurry” which defo feels more at home on the dark side with its brooding, analogue basslines and eerie crackles atop a still tender and subdued beat foundation, contrasting this innate darkness with a playful, friendly and uplifting synth motif which makes itself at home right in the very center of every punters heart.
The title cut that is „Retrograde” provides more of a muscular and well distinct dancefloor cut, drawing influences both from skeletal TechHouse as well as MinimalTechno whilst pairing a spatial, scintillating and ever changing synth melody with subdued, yet ever present muscular low end to a well hypnotic and time dissolving effect.
Finally, the closing tune „Lights” indulges in futuristic, perfectly sculpted contemporary TechHouse sounds with its tense, ever evolving elements flickering in the dim neon lights of underground venues like reflections on polished chrome, providing a well thrilling setting for club nights and future movie scores alike.//
