Paco Osuna’s record label Mindshake welcomes a collaborative EP from DJ Fronter and Julian Collazos who have previously worked together to showcase their upbeat brand of stripped back tech house on Hottrax and Circus Recordings.
Based in Colombia, DJ Fronter has a fascination with tribal percussion and Latin grooves. Mixing those influences with electronic beats, he creates groove heavy tracks that are perfect for the dance floor.
One of the artists leading the South American scenes next generation, DJ Fronter is a popular headliner at clubs and festivals across the region. He is also known internationally for his top-selling tracks on labels that range from Toolroom to Hot Creations.
Julian Collazos is also a Colombian artist who is a popular DJ in his home country and other parts of South America. He is also a talented solo producer known for his releases on respected labels such as Stereo Productions, Roush and Material.
Each of the artists have provided a solo track for the EP along with their collaborative cut, which opens the release in a vibrant style that’s full of charisma and Latino flair.
The guys collaborative track ‘Notorious’ opens the release with its hip-hop inspired vocal sample and stabbing piano riff. Track two ‘You’ by DJ Fronter is a stripped back and techy cut with a distinctive and soulful vocal, and track three is a dub version for those who like dark and hypnotic grooves. Julian Collazos’ solo track ‘Yourself’ closes out the release with its rubbery acid-line, explosive vocal samples and jackin’ percussion rhythms.//
