Julian Wassermann has been at the cutting edge of the Melodic House and Deep Techno scene for over a decade as he now appears on Balance Music with the 3 track ‘My Side’ EP.
With further forays into the realm of Tech and Deep House, the Munich based artist has been a regular across the clubs of his homeland including Berlin’s Watergate and a residency at Munich’s Harry Klein. Moreover, festival appearances at Pleinvrees in Amsterdam and Stuttgart’s SEMF has seen Wassermann take captivated audiences on a journey through diverse and energised sets.

This latest EP now sees Julian Wassermann make his Balance Music debut with typical aplomb. ‘My Side’ features a powerful rhythmic force as a sizzling top line adds tension and vibrancy. Simultaneously, a rippling arpeggio and spine tingling bassline sequence emerge in impressive fashion to create a sublime melodic pattern that shimmers in analogue glory against the metronomic rhythm, before a beatless breakdown demonstrates its full majesty. An intermittent vocal cut pushes the track forward to a rousing finale.
‘Tetra’ revels in its growling and fizzing bassline. A deep kick and off beat percussion keep the energy high as a pitched synth arpeggio creates dancefloor intensity. A chorus of intermittent effects and counterpoint motifs provide a woven tapestry of sound that peak in a metronomic crescendo at the 4 minute mark as the key elements seamlessly drop away, one by one, in the final stages to create an exquisitely crafted piece.
‘Faro’ is steeped in trademark techno sensibilities as a whip cracking kick drives the track forward atop a rumbling and sustained bassline. Building steadily a lead line filters into sonic range as it evolves into an immaculately syncopated motif. Rising and falling with ease, the track is a seething dancefloor powerhouse.//
