Desert Hearts Black label boss Marbs returns to the imprint with his latest release ‘Trip and Roll’, a driving and deep new cut paired with stellar remixes by Detroit legend DJ Minx and fellow West Coast producer SHADED. The 3-track EP arrives just in time to serve up heavy baselines on festival dancefloors this year.

As a Founder of the Desert Hearts brand known for its flagship annual festival for over 10 years running, world-renowned parties, and two record labels, Marbs has proven to be a longstanding pillar of the American dance music scene. His productions weave intricate percussive patterns with hypnotizing and emotional psychedelia.

‘Trip and Roll’ is wonky and weird in the best ways. Aimed at the heads-down-and-groove late floors, it breathes its own off-kilter charm from the very first bar. Sparse percussion and clever drum placement open the track before pads energize into the break. A film-like vocal completes the trip and sends you into an otherworldly state.

Dj Minx’s remix showcases her unique style with a stripped-back dubby angle, layering the original track’s motifs with her techno-focused touch.
