GLITCH ON NAPLES is the project born from the collaboration of Riva Starr with D-Ross, Startuffo, and Torok. Riva Starr and D-Ross have known each other for a long time, but they never had the chance to work together as they followed separate paths. In fact, Riva Starr started incorporating Neapolitan influences into his records as early as his first album, released with Virgin in 2000, titled ‘Pista Connection’. He later conducted an in-depth study of classic Campanian and Apulian music for his thesis, which resulted in an album called ‘Glocalizm’, as well as other productions under the name Miele.

After moving to London, Riva Starr embarked on a musical journey more oriented towards clubs but always keeping an eye on Italy. In 2013, he collaborated with Sud Sound System on the track ‘Orizzonti’, which became an anthem and a classic of their concerts and Puglian summer nights. Also in 2013, he worked with Vinicio Capossela and Carmen Consoli on two tracks included in the album ‘Hand In Hand’.

The idea for GLITCH ON NAPLES emerged from the meeting with D-Ross, aiming to blend the sound of the international project Riva Starr with the influences of their shared hometown. Riva Starr is intrigued by the idea of exploring his more pop-oriented sounds in collaboration with Neapolitan producers D-Ross, Startuffo, and Torok, and the studio atmosphere is one of great creativity and harmony. The first studio session resulted in two tracks, the first of which is titled ‘Vicino O’ Mare’, an engaging song rich with disco, pop, and electronic influences, featuring lyrics in the Neapolitan language.
