Renowned producers Kiko Navarro and Mike Steva join forces for SEmbat, their latest release on Afroterraneo Music. A deep and soulful Afro House journey, the track blends Armenian and Macedonian influences with Organic instrumentation and powerful dancefloor energy . The story of SEmbat began when Kiko Navarro received an original clarinet recording from an Armenian musician, courtesy of Andrey, owner of Dancing Vinyl record store in Barcelona. Intrigued by its rich melodic textures, Kiko set out to create a track inspired by the rhythmic patterns and traditional sounds of Armenia and the Balkans—regions he feels deeply connected to after many memorable DJ performances there. In the summer of 2024 Artist Mike Steva— known for his releases on Yoruba and Innervisions and the world wide hit Oro — visited Kiko in Mallorca. Upon hearing the demo, he immediately connected with the vibe, and the two decided to complete the track together. Later that night, they performed at SEmbat, a unique and intimate venue on the island, where the track resonated deeply with the crowd. The experience was so special that they named the song after it. SEmbat features contributions from David Kazaryan on clarinet, Benji Habichuela on spanish guitar, Pere Navarro on trumpet, and Sabin Penea on violin, adding rich layers of live instrumentation to the composition. A tribute to musical connection and cultural fusion, SEmbat is set to make waves on dancefloors worldwide.
