A very special release on Meanwhile, Marsh joins the artist roster with an exceptional remix of Zankee Gulatis Mind Opener. Marking the 70th release on the GMJ & Matter curated imprint, Tom Marshall joins a long list of leading producers, with his Marsh production soubriquet. UK-born but fully ensconcing the nomadic lifestyle of an A-list touring DJ in North America, Marsh has skyrocketed to global success after signing to behemoth UK label Anjunadeep in 2018, home to the likes of Quivver, Ben Böhmer and Jody Wisternoff. Headliner at the famous Printworks London and The Brooklyn Mirage in front of more than 10,000 adoring fans, Marshs rise to stardom has been courtesy of an incredible production talent. Over 150 production credits and 3 full-length albums for the aforementioned Anjunadeep has seen him become a staple of the Beatport Progressive House, Trance and Melodic Techno charts. Additional work for Monstercat Silk, Armada and Armin Van Buurens A State Of Trance have only added to Marshs cachet in the world of electronic club music, as has a recent collaboration with Sasha on February 2024s Dead Synthy. Now making his Meanwhile debut, Marsh takes reinterprets a track from Zankee Gulatis October 2024 EP. Reworking the luscious soundscapes of Mind Opener, a whip-cracking kick immediately provides a more uptempo vibe before off-beat hats enter the fray in a traditional house groove. Familiar melodies from the Australians track quickly become apparent as the chord progressions central to the original find their way atop of a sub-bass groove. Rippling arpeggios and counterpoint motifs coated in rich reverbs and subtle delays create a wonderfully textured affair that build upon the melodic themes inherent in Mind Opener before taking them in new club-friendly directions. Ethereal vocals add an angelic touch before a gradually filtered motif creates a smooth pause for the breath at the breakdown. Hitting the heights once again, a snare roll crescendo heralds a second half where the beautifully rippling arpeggio sits alongside the cadenced organ sound creating a sublimely deep, house vibe.
