Montreal label Forbidden Planet continues to impress on their third release, welcoming the lesser known talents of Boreal and LNRDCROY into the fold. Those out there still filled with a sense of excitement whenever they think of Breaker 1 2’s astounding debut for Jurg Haller’s label last year will probably be wondering whether Forbidden Planet have struck gold again and the answer is yes. Details on the exact identity of this pairing is scarce, with LNRDCROY seemingly emerging from the same Vancouver community that Mood Hut have been highlighting with such success over recent months. The unknown Boreal opens and closes this 12″, contributing the driving, percussive house of the title track and a more contemplative “Evochamber”, whilst LNRDCROY’s sole contribution comes in the form of the Utopian cracker “Do Ne” (Original Altitude mix) which features plenty of jagged breakbeats.
