Alex Preda Artist Bio

Alex Preda is a Romanian DJ and producer established in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

His passion for music begins to get shape in 2002, when he gets his first computer as a gift from his parents.

A big music fan since early age and always looking for new sounds, he immediately starts to learn by himself how to use music production softwares and create his own sounds. What actually determines him to start producing electronic music is the complex arrangement and melodies of the trance tunes he is listening to at that time.

Along the way he starts enjoying other rhythms as well, like progressive-house, breakbeat, minimal, techno and other derivations from house. Lots of artists, from a wide range of genres, influence him and contribute in shaping his own style. However, ever since then, he has been trying to come up with innovative sounds above everything else that he is listening to.

In 2005, Alex is invited by a friend to dj in a club in Bucharest and this gives his passion a completely new dimension.

In 2007, he moves to the Netherlands, where he meets by coincidence another friend from Romania. They discover that they share a common taste for electronic music and at the end of 2009 they start a DJ duo named Sonocracy. Their first set is played in November 2009 during the co-organized event Move Amsterdam, which turns out to be a huge success for the DJ duo.

Since then, they have been co-organizing various dance parties with other Amsterdam-based DJs and producers.

Late 2010, Sonocracy is contributing in laying the basis for a new event-organizing group in Amsterdam called Orgienes, whose popularity is now constantly growing in the Netherlands.

Alex is currently dj-ing as Sonocracy (DJ duo) and sometimes solo. However, most of his productions are individual experiments designed to express himself and please the others.
