Allan Banford Artist Bio

Allan’s interest in music began with Punk Rock, Ska and Grunge. After discovering the electronic scene, however, he soon realized the great potential between sound and technology. He started Djing in the late 90′ s, working alongside renowned artists like Carl Cox, Samuel L Sessions, among others. He set up his first studio in Horsham, West Sussex, creating one of the most innovative sounds on the market in 2002. The EP “Essential Elements” jump-started his career as international producer. It was released on SLS, the Swedish label that gained world-wide respect thanks to the support of Jeff Mills in his DVD “The Exhibitionist”. This EP was closely followed by a succession of top quality productions, including “Best of British”, released on Carl Cox’s label Intec Records, which sold more than 5000 12” vinyl units around the world.

The sudden growth of his career motivated his relocation to London, where he founded Evolved Records, for productions from artists like Tom Pooks of Kompakt and Hiroki Esashika, who are interested in experimenting with new genres; Evopro Recordings, which focuses on promoting new artists; and NB Records UK, exclusively for Allan’s audiovisual productions. NB has received impressive support thanks to the quality of the video presented in the launch EP “Here We Are”, to be broadcast by MTV Dance and available now in edition 002-07 of T-mobile’s Slices Magazine, which Allan shares with Sven Väth, Heartthrob and Ellen Allien.

These three independent labels are exclusively distributed worldwide physically from Germany by ELP Distribution and digitally by DJDownload, the online shop supported by Ministry of Sound. Allan collaborates actively with DJDownload, providing charts and monthly radio sessions.

Thanks to his curiosity with new technologies Allan Banford is part of the select group of “Rane Artists”, the company well know for “Serato Scratch Live”, which is also promoted by artists like Sasha and Richie Hawtin. Technology is a key element of Allan’s work, and he has recently agreed to test drive Numark’s new Midi Controller “Total Control” to aid product development.

Currently Allan is working on his first solo Album and an Evolved Records CD compilation to been released soon.

El interes de Allan Banford por la música en general empezó con el Punk, Ska y Grunge. Al descubrir el la escena electronica se dio cuenta de el gran potencial en la union entre el sonido y tecnología. Primero empezó como Dj a finales de los 90’s trabajando a la par con reconocidos artistas como Samule L Sessions, Carl Cox, Nick Warren, Dave Seaman entre otros. Después de un par de an~os se monta su primer estudio en Horsham, Sussex, en donde crea uno de los sonidos mas innovadores en el mercado.

Su primer reconocimiento internacional como productor lo logro con el EP `Essential Elements´ publicado en el sello Sueco de su amigo Samuel L Sessions “SLS”, sello bastante aclamado por el publico underground gracias a el respaldo de Jeff Mills en su primer DVD “El Exibicionista”, esta publicación atrajo de inmediato la atención de muchos sellos altamente reconocidos, como el mismo Intec Records de Carl Cox en donde la alta calidad de su EP `Best of British´ loga vender mas de 5000 vinilos, top download en beatport por mas de 7 weeks y top ventas en cisco Japan.

El repentino crecimiento de su carrera lo hace mudarse a Londres en donde funda, Evolved Records sello que publica producciones de artistas reconocidos como Tom Pook de Kompakt, Tom Hades o Hiroki Esashika que se inclinan por experimentar nuevos generos, Evopro Recordings sellos focalizado en promover nuevos artistas he involucrarlos directamente por medio de sus producciones y talento, y finalmente NB Records exclusivamente para Allan audiovisuales producciones respaldadas en diferentes formatos como DVD, CD, y vinilo, este proyecto a tenido una acogida impresionante ya que la calidad del Video presentada en el primer EP “Here We Are” realizado en Suiza ha sido respaldad por MTV Dance y la revista DVD de T-mobile Slices Magazine la cual publica mas de 25.000 unidades gratuitas en europa, Allan comparte esta la edición 002-07 con Sven Väth, Heartthrob, !K7 Records, y Ellen Allien.

Tres sellos disqueros totalmente independientes con tendencias muy definidas, exclusivamente distribuidos en vinilo a nivel mundial desde Alemania por ELP Distribucion de Marco Carola y digitalmente por Beatport y DJDownload, esta ultima la mas importante tienda digital en el Reino Unido respaldada por Ministry of Sound con la cual Allan colabora activamente con charts y sesiones radiales mensualmente.

Gracias a su inclinación hacia las tecnologías Allan Banford es parte de el selecto grupo de artistas “Rane” Compan~ia globalmente reconocida por el “Serato Scratch Live” producto innovador el cual a creado el puente ente análogo y digital, dentro de este grupo también encontramos artistas como Sasha y Richie Hawting. Tecnología es una característica fundamental en Allan Banford actividades, plasmada recientemente en su colaboración y desarrollo del nuevo Midi Controlador de Numark “Total Control” el cual que permite utilizar software mediante hardware en tiempo real, herramienta impresendible dentro de sus presentaciones en vivo.

No solamente como productor Allan Banford es reconocido mundialmente, su agenda como Dj a estado completa durante los últimos An~os teniendo presentaciones en los mas reconocidos clubs de territorios en europa, como Inglaterra: Londres (The End, The Cross, The Key, Pharmacy), Brighton, Bourmounth, Nottinham, Spain: Madrid (The cubic), Barcelona, Valencia, Ibiza, Puerto Banus, France: Lion, Mompellier, entre otros.
