Alpha Code is a new breed of neo-modern band; having met and formed entirely through the internet. This has led to a unique vision and sound; with the ability to create a fusion of genres from classic rock to indie, blues to funk.

Back in 1998, Simon Sparkes (lead vocals, guitar) met Chris Holden (guitar, backing vocals), teaching him how to play the guitar. They quickly realised they shared a similar desire to produce original music and began to tour the Manchester area with their acoustic set in 2002.

In 2007, they were joined by Neil Ashton (drums, backing vocals) in order to create a fully-fledged live band. Similarly, they began recording their own demos, which were received very positively by local media, musicians and fans alike. Finally, in 2009, they were joined by Emily Twist (bass, backing vocals) to form their current line-up; recording their first E.P. ‘Out of Control’, released under their label Tennessee Records in December 2009.

In the present day, they are lauded for their dynamic and interactive live performances, garnering fans from as far as America. As a whole, the band composes all of their songs collaboratively, in order to generate their distinctive sound. This utilises the wider age range and musical tastes of each member to create songs that are of a new kind, yet familiar to so many audiences.
