Baramuda Artist Bio

Bram van Houtum a.k.a Baramuda, born in Utrecht (the Netherlands), started his musical career when he was 8 years old by playing piano and guitar at his parents place. From this point forward, his passion for music grew and grew.

He knew exactly what he wanted at the age of 12 and chose the style that he liked most of all. He called it ”F*cked Up Funky House”. His first dj set was bought at the age 13, Baramuda started to play house records with a lot of hip hop influences. His passion took over and he locked himself up for days to practice his mixing skills while dreaming of a dj carrier.

At the age of 16, Baramuda decided to follow his dream and started to play at several dj contests. The Lin Q events soonly discovered him; Lin Q is the organization of Alcatraz open air festival. The dream came true, the dj carreer has begon for Baramuda! More bookings followed and he made the crowd go wild with his energetic and fantastic choice for house music.

2008 was a top year for Barramuda his productions where played in countries such as the USA, Argentina, the Netherlands and Russia. His tracks are supported by famous producers such as Erick E, Sidney Samson, Don Diablo, Ricky Rivaro and many more.

2009 is a year of change for Baramuda. He puts more variations in his productions by using the new techno and tech-house sounds that are currently well known in the scene. This change of direction has led to signing several Baramuda EP’s on big and respected international labels! For instance, Baramuda has signed an EP on the well known and respected label _Absolut! Recordings of Koen Groeneveld. Baramuda also made two banger tracks with his production partner Row Sunshine; Rokit Powered (Signed at Made in NL) and Play On (featuring MC Divine (1Management)) which are signed at the well known and worldwide respected Spinnin’ Recordings label.

The remixology of Baramuda also grew in 2009. Kid Massive, Gabriel & Castellon and Youri Donatz aren’t the smallest players in the game that Baramuda remixed! Even though Baramuda is very busy with remixes and production, you can still expect nothing but the best from him! The sound of Baramuda hasn’t changed a bit, it only grew a bit more. You can hear more techno and tech-house influences in his sound but Baramuda hasn’t forgotten his roots: “F*cked Up Funky House”!

2010 brings Baramuda to a whole new level. With his upcoming release on Spinnin’ Recordings he has been asked to remix Filthy Rich, Boy 8-Bit and last but not least Milton Channels to name a few not of the smallest players in the dance music industry!

There is a big change on the dj side of Baramude in 2009 as well. Baramuda signed an exclusive contract with his new bookings agency: B2Control Bookings. As you can see, a lot of people are now noticing Baramuda. This will only be bigger and better in the future!

So watch out, Baramuda is taking over!!!
