Beat Tribe Artist Bio

DJ/Producer Beat Tribe aka Michael Stewart has deep roots in electronic dance music. A child of the 80’s, he was influenced by the electronic sounds of the South Florida freestyle and bass scene. In his early 20’s, he moved to Orlando, which had become a breeding ground for cutting edge electronic music, spawning such US trendsetters such as Sean Cusick, Chris Fortier, and more. It was here he began mixing, and quickly started DJ’ing parties at the legendary Club at Firestone, Groove, and more.

Today, he resides in Houston, where he hosts a two hour, biweekly internet radio show on Trance Domain called Subterranean (www.trance-domain.com). His eclectic style of mixing deep house, techno, and all things in between has truly set him apart from his contemporaries with a unique and innovative sound unlike none other.

His productions have also been causing quite a buzz. His first track “The Day After” was released on the latest extension of the legendary San Francisco nightclub Spundae, Spundae Black Records. Gaining support from DJ’s all over the world, it has been featured on Frisky Radio, Proton Radio, Deep Sessions, and more. His most recent release, “Ascencion”, also on Spundae Black, was just released on Beatport to great acclaim and has solidified his name in the dance community. With support by Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, and a slew of well known radio shows, “Ascencion” is slated to be huge. He has become a sought after remixer, having done work for worriedaboutsatan and fellow Spundae Black label mates Festiva, Pavel Sheemano, and label manager Andres Solano, who’s tracks have been featured on compilations by Dave Seaman and others.
