Beerhouser Artist Bio
DJ, electronic music and, sporadically, radio jingle producer. Graphics designer.
Beerhouser, whose real name is Maciej Tkaczyk, was born in 1979 in Olsztyn, Poland. He still lives there. He loves whisky and beer, doesn’t smoke cigarettes but is fond of cigars. Beerh, as friends call him, often spends time out in clubs and pubs. In his free time, Beerh likes listening to rock, acid jazz and sometimes blues and of course electronic music. When asked to tell a few words about himself, he writes:
At first I composed for myself and friends. These were simply experiments with sound on Atari and Amiga. The tones howled and creaked but were inspired by the first records of Acen, Prodigy, Altern8, Blame, Zero B and others – more or less rave and break fields.
First compositions, which could be released in clubs, rised on Amiga. In 1997-1998, thanks to my connections with one of the residents of ComeIn, the club in Olsztyn, I started playing jingles, in which I ‘smuggled’ and tested my own tracks, for the club.
Soon PCs with astounding possibilities appeared and enabled to improve the tone of existing tracks as well as compose new ones. I was able to perform longer sets. This led to organize first big party.
Everything was going well so I got the kick for further work. Few possibilities of playing appeared. I met some people who invited me to take part in various events, i.e. cult techno parties in Kolejarz (I met more ambitious tastes and braver sounds) or festival of digital music in Lodz organized in Forum Fabricum – a place with amazing atmosphere.
In the meantime – countless events (bigger and smaller) in north-eastern Poland took place. I was still playing my own tracks and going everywhere with those giant computers. Since the turn of 2002-2003 I started mixing from the black records putting in my own tracks in the sets. This lasts till today.
As for music, I started from the broken tunes. I mixed rave, break, hardcore and heavier sounds of house. Relatively fast my music was heading for diverse sounds of techno. Now, during my sets a hybrid of various sounds can be heard but the core remains techno. Read more on Last.fm.
