Cuften Artist Bio

Cuften is an electronic artist who creates and records everything live on a hardware setup. His music can be described as rave music with something to tell, often using oldschool rave aesthetics for futuristic purposes.

He started deejaying in the late 90’s, then have been a hardcore DJ and freeparty activist during the whole 00’s. In the early 10’s, he started to records things under the name “Lepyong”, and made a few live PA and DJ sets under this alias, and some tracks have also been released.

He created his label Purusu in 2016 and released his first compilation named “Sines of Puru”. He made every single track of this compilation under several aliases – Cuften37 is one of them.

In 2017, he gave up “Lepyong” and decided to keep the “Cuften” alias. Then he released a serie of 4 EPs called The Obsidian Journey who received some support from established artists like Minimum Syndicat, Umwelt, Ed Isar, 14 Anger, and even Manu le Malin / The Driver who played alongside him at Concrete (Paris).

In april 2018, Musique Pour la Danse – a sublabel of Mental Groove – releases a VA called “Equipe de danse”, curated by the parisian DJ Ed Isar (who helps him to run Purusu). It’s the first appearance of a Cuften’s track on a vinyl. Other vinyl releases on other labels are planned for this year, and of course there are cool things to come on Purusu. Read more on Last.fm.
