David Bean Artist Bio

As lead singer and main songwriter of The Judy’s, David Bean quickly established himself as one of Texas’ premier performers. Bob Claypool of the Houston Post called him a “veteran of the music scene” by age 25 and Liam Sternberg (Walk Like an Egyptian) called him “an amazing songwriter with a incredible vocal range”. Even Academy Award-winning director Jonathan Demme (The Silence of the Lambs) hailed Bean as “one of America’s best kept secrets”.

In addition to his work with The Judy’s, Bean has released a solo EP, Modomusic (1983, released as bonus tracks on the 2007 CD debut of The Judy’s Moo Album), appeared on recordings with other artists, been included on an Elektra/Asylum Texas music compilation, been featured in several film and video soundtracks, and has had his songs covered by numerous other bands.
