It all started on a balmy evening in 1998, a parents promise of buying their son a pair of turntables had finally come to fruition. Bought at a car boot sale, they stank of damp, were covered in dents and had virtually no torque; they were however, maybe the best gift the boy had ever received. On that very same day, his best friend from school came to visit. Fast-forward 3 years and the rickety old decks had been well and truly superseded; both boys had shiny new Technics 1210ʼs and record collectionʼs that had completely taken over their respective parentʼs spare rooms and garages. The arrival of the millennium had seen music usually reserved for 4am in an Ibiza nightclub, suddenly finding its way into the UK charts. House and garage were all staples on peopleʼs radios; you only needed to see the weekend line up on Radio 1 to understand the influence and popularity of the scene. For any aspiring musician it was almost impossible to escape dance music fever, and for two people in particular, it hit hard! Donʼt Look Now was born from two friends love of fusing garage bass-lines with sultry house vocals, and where most people at the time either played house or garage, DNL happily switched between the two genres, keeping friends and clubbers smiling and dancing well into the early hours. Bringing things right up to the present day; Having spent serious time in the studio working with purely analogue production gear, DNL are now poised to unleash the fruits of their labor on discerning dance floors across the globe.
