Honeysmack Artist Bio

Electronic composer, producer and performer, David Haberfeld, performs under the stage moniker Honeysmack. Although influenced by the 80’s hardcore punk and skate scenes, and later from the harder-edged American hip-hop sounds of the time, it was the acid-house explosion of the late 80’s which had the greatest impact on Honeysmack.

Released a 5-track EP on UK dance label Kickin’ Records, under the name Hysterical Systems, a collaboration with electronic composer Phillip Samartzis.

Started Smelly Records In 1994, releasing the Pura project, a hard-acid outfit called Cynosure (again with Phillip Samartzis), and other tracks as Honeysmack.

Signed to Mushroom in the late 1990s and released the Walk On Acid track which became the most requested track on the national JJJ radio network (in Australia) and reached number two on the Channel V charts. The track was also nominated for an ARIA Award for Best Dance Artist Release. Read more on Last.fm.
