J Alexander Artist Bio

J Alexander set up his own musical imprint Friends Electric in 2006 and continues to produce, remix and write his own blend of soulful Techno and Tech-House. His productions can be heard across the globe, supported by the biggest names from across the electronic spectrum; Derrick May, Laurent Garnier, Nic Fanciulli and Ivan Smagghe, are to name but a few DJs that have supported his work and that of his label. But it is not just in producing where his talents lie, as a veteran DJ with over 15 years experience he has travel to some far flung places to move dance floors as well as being a regular player on the Berlin and Hamburg club scenes.

Over the past few years J has teamed up with some of the world’s most respected producers such as: SWEET N CANDY, KENNY LARKIN, DAN CURTIN,VINCE WATSON and SASHA CARASSI. All have who remixed his work, indeed Detroit Legend Kenny Larkin is quoted as saying, “My best remix to date,” when describing his remix of J Alexander’s ‘Endless’ – high praise when you consider Kenny has remixed for the likes of: Carl Craig, Richie Hatwin, Ben Klock and Radio Slave.

2013 sees J Alexander back in the studio to work on a double vinyl album for release later in the year, expect a few surprises as he not only uses a wealth of vintage synths and drum machines but he also has recorded classical musicians and live string sections!
