Joe Le Groove Artist Bio

Joe Le Groove, DJ/Producer/Label co-owner, is the product of cross-cultural influences, hailing from neither the USA nor the UK, but musically developed by both. During childhood he moved from one to the other because of a father in the US forces. From the age of six he began collecting various musical genres, amassing to date a collection of twelve thousand-plus pieces of vinyl. He took his first furtive steps into DJing at thirteen developing his interest in Hip Hop. However, at fifteen he was introduced to the underground rave scene at Biology. Imbued with the energy and vibrancy of this blossoming movement he followed his instinct and became friends with: DJ Hype, Fabio, Remarc/Rob & Dave, Foster (Roast) and, many other noted artists. With friends like these mixing breaks and hardcore was inevitable. The underground music scene called and Joe was more than willing to answer. His talent won him set’s at such places as: Wag Club (Up + Coming 92-94), Kiss FM Sunday@Wag 92 (with Dave Pearce Radio 1/ Rob Blake), Global Explosion 92-94, Happy Jaks, The Rocket, Tasco Warehouse, Hard N Heavy @ Club SE1, Orange @ Astoria, The Scala, SW1 Club, The Camden Palace, Milk Bar, Club 414, Ministry of Sound. Lazerdrome, Honey Club, Club UN, Hippodrome, and, Bagley’s, just to name a few. Pirate radio sort out his services and he found air time on: Destiny FM, Fish FM, Global FM, Dream FM, Boss FM, and, Shocking FM. Not content with sticking with one musical genre, Joe skates the rink performing perfect moves in each, but with an eye on developing something extraordinary from all. Under the guise of Joe Le Groove he has excelled in DJing House, Techno and Breaks, winning his wage from: Glass House, Ministry of Sound, Pacha, The Scala, The Honey Club, Medicine, AKA/ED (Players) – touring to: Miami, California, New York, Ibiza, France, Spain and as far as Asia destroying dance floors along the way. Gaining residencies at: Turnmlls, Kinky Malinki, and his current and continued love affair with Pushca as their main provider for sublime performances. Listen out for Joe on Pushca’s 2009 world tour where you can catch the man in action. Joe has never spent any time in a glass box, but he has shared the DJ box with: Tony Humphries, Tom Stephan, Mr C Lee Cabrera, and Carl Cox to name but a few. With residencies at: The Cross, Redlight, Electro Me To Death S.LR in Romania and his Groove Boxer tours in Baltics (Latvia), his potential to excel is beyond question. Joe can currently be found running Brake Horse Recording’s which will be launched in May 2009. He is working on the final print of a new House Album with Dego Bionix, which will be released in the spring of 2010, the bonus mix CD and performances will be done on 4 decks, 4CDJs, 2 mixers, laptops and effects (live re-mixing). Together they will be looking for booking’s to show what their hard work has produced. He is also working on a project called Radikal Groove and is one half of the Gatchamen. This year Joe has been working with various producers of the moment like the Hoxton Whores and Kanio to name a couple. Dego Bionix or Subject 13 stated that, ‘Joe is technically one of the best DJ’s and most promising artist that I have heard in a while; he could be described as the David Blaine of mixing, with the ability to make things vanish at will.
