JP Castro Artist Bio

The innovative and engaging style of DJ and music producer João Pedro Castro does not give up at a young age. JP Castro (V2), the name he adopted as an artist, always knew about his vocation – at the age of 9 he already dominated the piano, guitar, guitar and drums. This early discovery for music was just the beginning of his career: João studied Music Production at Point Blank Music School, in London, one of the best contemporary music schools in the world. At 18, already hired by Sony Music, he shared the stage with renowned DJs like Alok, Chicane, Gabriel and Dresden. From more exclusive parties, at Cafe de la Musique (SC), he even performed for 20 thousand people at festivals around Brazil. Continually reinventing his sound, in the name of an exciting curiosity, V2 invited Rogério Flausino to voice the remix of “Vamos Fugir”, a classic by Gilberto Gil, who for the first time authorized a DJ to give his tone to the music. It was so successful that in just over a year it had already reached 1 million streams on the main platforms. The original work of V2 can be seen on the tracks “New Age”, and the most recent “Lights” Without fear of exceeding his limits, he explores the diversity of musical instrument sounds that he masters to produce melodic house tracks. In 2021, he started a project that mixes music and inhospitable landscapes from the four corners of the country: the first place chosen was the National Park of Catimbau, in the countryside of Pernambuco.
