Without yet formally releasing any tracks from his collection of new productions, JPEG already has electronic music fans in Winnipeg buzzing. JPEG’s space driven melodies known as “Sea Vibe” combine a multitude of genres to seamlessly create JPEG’s signature sound. Inspired by years of travelling to music festivals as well as record collecting, JPEG approaches his productions as if they were frozen lakes scattered across the Manitoba prairies, giving the listener a glimpse into the barren landscape he calls home. Haunting vocals, warm basses and ghostlike drums fill JPEG’s intricate soundscapes, which span a variety of BPM. Integrating an assortment of analog synthesizers and drum machines has given JPEG’s work a raw and powerful energy which will continue to excite and compel his fans and peers. Following the release of “Drown”, 2012 will undoubtedly be a year to watch out for JPEG and Sea Vibe.
