Kapoor Artist Bio

Standing out from the rest can be difficult in a sea of the same. It’s something that contemporary art sculptor Anish Kapoor fought and overcame, as has the Belfast techno veteran he lends his name to.
Kapoor has been a part of the local scene in Ireland for over ten years now, working alongside household names such as DSNT, Shine and Twitch, and collaborating with the new school of the Irish electronic community in RESIST while running his own label FOUR SIDES.

Techno is very much a reflection of who Kapoor is, not only as an artist, but as a person. Inspired by the concrete sounds of DVS1, Function and Regis, Kapoor’s output is a glimpse into the upbringing, cultural surroundings and sounds that have influenced the artist throughout his life.
The result is techno with a purpose – indicated by project titles such as The Veil Of Thoughts, Persistence Of Vision and Face Your Fears. All are symbolic to the thoughts, memories and dreams of Kapoor.
Through dramatic soundscapes, scattered, euphoria inducing drum patterns, Kapoor has carved out his own distinct sonic personality within a rising ocean of pretenders, lending his heartfelt and personal take on techno to performances at TRESOR, Berlin and JADED, London, alongside some of the finest names in the contemporary techno scene, such as Charlotte De Witte, Nina Kraviz, Len Faki, Lucy and many more.

EXTRACT PART ONE is the first representation of a forthcoming white label series on Kapoor’s Four Sides – where the artist will be showcasing raw and direct side to his productions, whilst developing and pushing his own creativity to its limits.
