Kimo Artist Bio

Kimo’s band name is used by 2 persons.

1- Kimo are David Mulcahy (JPSE Superette) Rob Mayes(dolphin, Throw) and Michael Daly (YFC, Renderers) who put their considerable history of music together to make hooky sing along alternative rock.
They released one album in 2004 called ‘loverbatim’ under the name Eskimo but there were so many bands using that word in their name the band decided to leave them to it and lose a couple of letters and simply be kimo.
Loverbatim spawned the singles Arrow, Summerlite and Evergreen, which was also accompanied by a video.

The band have just released their new long player ‘surrender’ a more moody spacious outing than the dense textures of the first album.

2 – A Rapper from Amsterdam

In 2002 zette Kimo zijn eerste stappen als rapper binnen de Nederlandse hiphopscene. Hij kreeg een kleine bekendheid met zijn deelname aan de Urban Lifestyle battles, een toernooi dat op televisie werd uitgezonden door muziekzender The Box. Kimo won elke editie van dit toernooi.
In 2004 doet Kimo mee aan het MC-Battle toernooi ‘Spitt 2004’ in Amsterdam. Kimo laat hier een groot deel van de Nederlandse rapscene kennismaken met zijn freestyle kunsten, zo versloeg hij niet alleen de Engelstalige rapper Rowdy (Most Official), maar ook T-Slash. Uiteindelijk stond Kimo tegenover de rapper DRT in de finale die helemaal afgemaakt werd door Kimo, en Kimo won daarmee het toernooi.
