Kollage Artist Bio

Kollage, an artist based in Chicago, has been involved with music for years through DJing and production. Although being very active creating music constantly in his studio, he is more selective on how much he performs live, preferring anonymity and relying solely on recognition for his music. Personal growth and expression are key in his process and development of his art (music). Plain and simple, he’s about the music. With a base in Hip Hop and raw beats, he expands far beyond that, with a mixture of creative sampling, sound design and live instrumentation. In addition to that he also uses his wide range of influences and musical knowledge across many genres and time periods, which becomes evident when listening to his music.

With an EP released last year (2011) on the Moment Sound label and this year on Chicago’s Face Melt “Chi Sound Vol. 3” compilation, he’s slowly and meticulously filtering what he desires to be known as his breadth of work.
