Kubrick Artist Bio

There are two artists with the name Kubrick:

1) Kubrick: rebel guitar-synths, strictly 80s keyboards, elegant piano melodies and robotic drum machines, this is simply half of what you can unearth in this synth rock band. This is Cyber music. This is Kubrick.

The project started in Bologna, Italy in 2002 and after a long live tour the band entered their own studio to record Cyberbeauty, their first album, featuring “Collapse”, the epitome of synth pop, and “K.L.I.M.T.”, their most definitive song, Cyberbeauty is a concentration of pianos, synthesizers, electronic drums, rocking guitars and futuristic lyrics the fans use to call: Cybermusic.

2) Kubrick: a groove/experimental jam band from Adelaide, Australia. This trio consists of CJ Rhodes on bass/samples, Craig Lauritsen on drums, James Brown on guitar/samples, and also Adam Page and Jon Hunt both on sax. They have released two albums already and play live at various bars around the city.

Kubrick combine the best of both worlds: the energy of live musicians interacting through improvisation and the aesthetic possibilities presented by technology. The band has been performing regularly in Adelaide since forming in 2005, releasing their debut self-titled album in early 2006. Since then they have been honing their sound – they are currently in the studio recording their second album due for release in July 2007. Recently Kubrick have been collaborating with Adam Page (saxes, loops, effects, other instruments) with an east-coast tour scheduled in July/August 2007. Read more on Last.fm.
