Lifers Artist Bio

The Lifers were a Regan-era post-punk band from San Francisco whose style of new wave bordered more on art rock while still maintaining its post-punk ethos. Clangy guitars and Pylon-style drum riffs along with urgently sung vocals embodied a sound that would have given later bands a run for their money. In addition to vocalist Clay Smith, the band was comprised of Michael Stephenson (Bass), David Warren (Drums), and Jeffrey Trott on Piano and Guitar. Regrettably they released only one album, 1981’s “This House” on the Gammon Records label. The band apparently dissolved after the album was released, although little is known of them after this time. Jeffrey Trott, however, ended up becoming an award-winning songwriter in the Nashville Music scene, and is still active today. Read more on Last.fm.
