Line Artist Bio

There are at least eight artists that use the name ‘Line’:

1: Line (pronounced Leeneh in Danish) (born 1996) is a Danish singer who took part in season 5 of the Danish X Factor and became one of the finalists in the “Under 25” category and was mentored by Pernille Rosendahl. On the final held on 23 March 2012, she finished runner-up with 38.3% of the public vote behind Ida who carried the title with 61.7%. After win, she was signed to Sony Music and her debut single “Efter dig” reached #3 in the Danish Singles Chart.

2: British-born, German-raised pop-electro producer Neil Wells, based in Nottingham.

Until recently an electronic sideline to his main musical interests (including the bands Seachange (Matador), Savoy Grand (Pickled Egg/Glitterhouse) and Escapologists), his 2005 debut 7”as Line, ‘A Snowstorm In A Globe/Observe the Mechanics’, “borrowing the sunglasses-at-night menace that bruises Depeche Mode’s darker work before mingling it with the kind of detachment normally associated with Colder” (Boomkat), nonetheless drew plaudits from sources as diverse as Warpmart (“killer”), Textura (“awesome”), Angryape (“brilliant”), and Nag Nag Nag supremo Fil OK.

A slew of compilation appearances followed, as well as live shows with the likes of Fog, Alias, The Bug, DMX Krew, Kid606, Debasser, Cylob, and Panda Bear, topped off this year by an appearance on Uncharted Audio’s “Signals” subscription 7” series alongside artists such as Plaid, Si Begg, King Cannibal and labelmate Cursor Miner.

Now focussing on the electronic stuff, Line’s debut LP, ‘Hearts’, spins strands of lo-fi electro, acid, indie rock and techno into heartrending love songs and is scheduled for a February 2009 release on Uncharted Audio.

3: One creates predominantly guitar instrumentals and consists of – Ben Owen, Ben Trinkle, Tom Owen, Andi Wells and Dan Cornfield. They are based in the South west of Britain. (Bristol, Cardiff, Swindon) They formed in 2002. www.superfirecords.co.uk / www.myspace.com/linemusic

6: There is also a Line from Ala Jazz Records, wich only release out now is; Catch You Where Stars & Guitars Meet : Mishi Vadera is a traveler. He travels around the world with the imagination up front gathering everything he sees, touches and listens. His music is a reflection of the many sights that have cross his eyes, as the man of world he is, being born in India and sharing his time between New Delhi and Miami. A sound of no boundaries; where a very fresh, full and uplifting hybrid between those velvet of influences of jazz, the many samples and arrangements meet and bring a seductive sound where exotic is a very limited way of calling his music

Line’s music is a reunion of old friend long time without seeing each other, a date in a park in New Delhi, the sun in Miami, a cup of tea in a hotel room in India, a martini in the beach, a pint of beer shared with your brother in Bangkok, is a family 18 hours away from your home.

Is a work of magic and a work of mystery. A destination far away in the cosmos as a meeting ground.
