Lisbon Kid Artist Bio

Lisbon Kid is a London-based alternative acoustic electronica duo comprised of producers Danny de Matos and Rui da Silva, formed in 2014. Their first track was ‘Event Horizon’ featuring Hafdís Huld, which came along whilst working at the same studio in Lisbon, Portugal. ‘Sunburst’ was the advance of their Wall of Sound debut long-player ‘Lisbon kid’, released on 26th of February 2016.

Rui da Silva is an internationally recognised DJ and dance music producer being best known for his worldwide club hit ‘Touch Me’. Danny de Matos is a songwriter and music composer nominated for a Clio Award for his work on Taco Bell’s ‘It’s All About The Roosevelts Baby!’

Their debut album, is a laidback mix of electronica and acoustic instruments, often with ambient landscaping and employing elements of sound design. Added to this is a huge song-based pop sensibility and emotional lyrical content that gives the project the obvious uniqueness that is Lisbon Kid. Influences include Royksopp, Zero 7, Pink Floyd, Cinematic Orchestra, Kinobe , Massive Attack, M83, Nick Drake. It also contains various contributions from a select handful of well-known luminaries from the alternative music world additionally bringing their unique personalities and feel to the forthcoming long player. Featured artists and vocalists include Sarah Cracknell (St. Etienne), Lisa Billson (Orbital/Loose Salute) James Craise (featured Professor Green singer), seminal Portuguese icon Rui Veloso, electronic diva Queen Of Hearts and Icelandic songstress Hafdis Huld.

Live gigs see them being joined by James Craise (Professor Green) and a 3D mapping visual artist for a truly spectacular live experience. From their beginnings at The Canvas Art Gallery in London for a select audience of UK’s cutting-edge advertising industry, Lisbon Kid have already done shows in Camden, supports for M+A in Shoreditch, private after-parties at Soho House for Scarlet’s Johansson ‘Under The Skin’ and did their international debut at the Cannes Festival

As in demand leftfield remixers, Lisbon Kid have recently remixed James McArthur’s ‘Lawn Order’ for Chris Coco’s Melodica Recordings and the new single ‘Confused’ for The Blockheads’.
As Producers they have worked with many alternative artists, most recently producing the UK’s latest hot indie pop starlet Chloe Howl.
