Marlene Stark Artist Bio

Marlene Stark is a DJ, producer, author, artist and mother. She is a regular at the @Sameheads Club Berlin where she hosts her party called ‘Superposition’. In 2019, Marlene published her debut novel “M” with co-author Anna Gien at Matthes and Seitz. The book talks about the systematic oppression of women in capitalism and in the art scene while talking about Berlin, its music scene, djing, drugs, sexuality and Male Gaze. Marlene’s debut album ‘Hyäne’ is a continuation of her work. It’s a thoughtfully influenced and neo-ceremonial music that aspires to evoke body trance and the awakening of hysteria. Marlene Stark floods the dancefloor with rhythmic body music that is dark, courageous and vocal in a political and in a poetic way. The tracks are influenced by early Breakbeat, Downtempo, Trance and Acid, with hints of Trip Hop, Tribal, Psychedelic and Krautrock. Read more on Last.fm.
