Minitech Project Artist Bio

MiniTech Project is an extremely international personality born in London, England. Having traveled, lived and performed in several destinations within the United Kingdom, United States, India, and currently residing in the Netherlands, he has had exposure to all sorts of sounds in Music. His early electronic influences range from revolutionaries such as Pink Floyd, New Order, Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, and Daft Punk. With an immaculate sense of passion for dance music, an open ear and a technical mind, his career as a DJ started over a decade ago with performances spanning the globe (as DJ Faroukh). He is no stranger to versatile performing environments, which have ranged from intimate private gigs, to fusion jam sessions live with other musicians to outdoor Gatherings for crowds numbered in thousands.

After firmly establishing his position as a DJ, Faroukh stepped away from performing to expand his music production and engineering skills, to push the boundaries of his experience even further through his own productions. The challenge then became getting a lock on the vibe of the music with so many interesting cutting edge dance music genres present in Faroukh’s DJ sets.
The first time Faroukh heard “Roadkill” by “Dubfire” and then early tunes from progressive giants “D-Nox and Beckers”, it became clear in what direction to take the sound. It had cutting edge production, the grooves of minimal techno, the drive and breathtaking buildups of progressive with an even trancy futuristic element to it. And so the “MiniTech Project” sound was born….

His unique but catchy productions were immediately noticed by Fly (legendary “Bonzai” label founder) at the Amsterdam Dance event 2009, signing his first EP release “Sea Walker” on the Bonzai Basiks sub label shortly after. This release gained support from the likes of Yves Deruyter, Gabriel Batz, Jimmy Galle, Paul Nova, Jasper Jinx, Pushkar & Jakopetz, Johan Nilsson (DJ Irish), Airwave and Fly (Bonzai) The track “Twist of Fate” was also selected by Yves Deruyter for his “DJ Worx 20” compilation. Remix requests soon followed and with several individual releases plus remixes on the way, 2010 looks to be a bright year for this rapidly upcoming artist…

With a constantly evolving style, this sound crosses musical boundaries with influences of minimal house, progressive house, progressive trance, techno, and tech house with a hard drive and buildups which drop like a bomb of bliss on the dancefloor. A sound accurately described as “Bouncy, trancy, minimal, groovy. dance music.” The main objective: to make people feel that magical special “moment” of happiness where nothing else matters and everyone comes together.
