Paul EG Artist Bio

Paul Eg is a former resident of the Brazilian top club D-Edge and a talented producer of the last few years. His care-free vibe and creativity behind the decks has made him a fan favorite.

Born in the country of Samba and Bossa Nova where he started spinning in 1996, his first influences were labels such as Axis, Design Music, and One Thousand.

At some point of his career, the approach of recording for other people labels became too restrictive for his own creative output. Therefore in 2004 he set about producing materials for a new dynamic sound aiming to be released on his own label. He started to produce under the name «Bio Booster» which was influenced by Marco Carola and the groove from Naples.

Under Bio Booster, Eg released solid techno productions on many international labels with renowned artists such as Felipe & Nicolas Bacher, Devilfish, Adam Jay, Lowdown, Umberto Carmignani, Paul Mac and Dj Mau Mau.

His label, Ethnik Groove was founded in Brazil in 2004 and released producers like Davide Squillace, Markantonio, Quantec, Jeff Bennett, Umberto Carmignani. It created massive media attention and enthusiastic critics.

He founded Minimo Imprint in 2006 with his new alias Paul Eg. “Eg” refers to the initials of Ethnik Groove, synonomous with his high quality productions. The objective was to discover and produce ultra-fresh DJ music that he could play on his ever expanding international gigging schedule in collaboration with Eriko Tanabe, Quantec, Jeff Bennett, Florian Meindel and Matteo Sepdicatti.

In addition to his genre-defining works, Eg continues to inspire and ignite dancefloors worldwide. He has been a resident at D.Edge (Brazil) and has played in leading events and clubs such as Lov-e, A Loca, Electron Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, Balelec Festival, Couleur 3 alongside artists like Marco Carola, Troy Pierce, Gaetano Parisio, Deetron, Oxia, Davide Squillace, and Green Velvet (just to mention a few).

As of today Eg is very demanded on international labels behind established artists such as: Christian Burkhardt, Brendon Moeller, Hernan Cattaneo, Renato Cohen, Mihalis Safras. His productions and remixes appear today in the playlist of numerous world-renowned Djs.
