Peg Artist Bio

PEG were an iconic, brutally original band who graced the Sydney pub scene throughout the 90’s and early 2000’s.

Interest in PEG developed early following intense, emotional and driven performances which earned them the reputation of one of the best live acts in Sydney. The record labels took notice too and in 1993 PEG released their first recording The Science of Imaginary Solutions to critical acclaim.

The reputation of PEG’s live performances soon spread and they were playing to packed houses incorporating new songs which were subsequently released on their second recording CB4TK. Again, the critics were amazed and lauded praise on a band that was by this time becoming a serious force in the local music scene.
“Off kilter, melodious refinement…a certain jazz aesthetic…Peg’s music is fragmented, as well as spacious and deceptively hook-laden.”
Rolling Stone – 1994

PEG’s final release, Awaiting the Retriever, saw them branch into ever more original territory incorporating elements of jazz and progressive rock into their repertoire while remaining true to their original style. The song Long Way Down was also featured in the award winning TV series Cold Case. Read more on Last.fm.
