Peter Kirn Artist Bio

Peter Kirn is a composer and solo electronic / audiovisual artist based in New York. He blends experimental production and custom software with techno-influenced beats. A native of Louisville, Kentucky, his background is in classical and contemporary music, often weaving piano and keyboard textures into his work. He has been a frequent collaborator with modern dancers (Christopher Williams, Kathy Westwater), and switches gears from vocal music and 17th-century instruments to 21st-century computer tech. He’s also known as a tech blogger, the founding editor of Create Digital Music and Create Digital Motion and a regular contributor to magazines including Keyboard, Macworld, and Wax Poetics.
