Philip Chedid Artist Bio

An electronic music DJ, remixer, composer and producer. His Vektra Compilation Series/Radio show can be listened to each week on MixCloud. Philip manages the EDM label Vektra Recordings in Miami.

His love for dance music grew over the years, and in the 90’s he began following the work of legendary DJs such as Paul van Dyk, Oakenfold, Sasha, Timo Maas, Ralph Emerson, Max Graham, Nick Warren, John Digweed, Sebo K, Save Seaman and Carl Cox. During his teenage years, Philip was an avid percussionist and drummer in various bands with his brother Julian and took on musical acts under the band name Elemental. In Montreal, Philip was exposed to Montreal Dance players like 514 Productions, Sona and Red Lite Afterhours. Later that year, he bought a pair of Technics turntables and a Pioneer mixer. In 2004, he began working with Pioneer CDJs and further developed his sound engineering skills.

After finishing his university, Philip moved to Miami in 2005 and studied law. While in law school, Philip sought much production tutoring from international DJ and Producer Max Graham, owner of Rebrand Records out of Montreal. In 2010, Philip moved to the Netherlands after graduating law school and earned an LLM from Leiden. While living in Holland, Philip promoted his sound at festivals like the Amsterdam Dance Event.

Known for his versatility, Chedid has been known to mix in his sets the sounds of techno, house, trance, and progressive to name a few.
