Port Manteau Artist Bio

A merging of Indie and Grunge from Ottawa, Canada.

Formed in 2011 after two roommates decided to start a band and post online ads, Port Manteau, a four piece, has released two full length albums and an EP. Their new album, To Far Away Friends, is the first album released with their current lineup. Recorded over the entirety of 2013 and the first half of 2014, the album is arguably the bands best work and their most ambitious yet.

The most recent lineup has been together since mid 2013 and have been playing shows ever since, and they are looking forward to playing a lot more. They have received a lot of praise for their energetic and eclectic live shows and albums, with one reviewer remarking that “this is by far the most original band I’ve come across in years.” Read more on Last.fm.
