RR held prestigious Head of A&R positions at two of the most influential and pioneering dance labels Global Cuts/R&S Records-Belgium (Jaydee ‘Plastic Dreams’) and Slip ‘n Slide/Kickin (De’ lacey ‘Hideaway’)

In 2001 he founded and is the Director of Phonetic Recordings

2004 Phonetic were nominated for ‘Label of the Year’ at the UK House Music Awards, alongside long established players Subliminal, Underwater, Defected, Def Mix and Hed Kandi

2005 House Music Awards, RR was nominated for the ‘Outstanding A&R’ award along side the likes of Erik Morillo, Jason Ellis/Positiva & Simon ‘Defected’ Dunmore

He has released 3 Top 40 UK National Chart Records in the last year (27,33, 40)

All of his own productions have hit No.1 in the UK club charts, DMC Buzz, Coolcut & Mixmag Charts

His Phonetic releases have seen ‘Record of the week’ for the likes of Jo Whiley, Scott Mills, Dave Pearce, Chris Moyles, Edith Bowman & Colin Murray, Pete Tong, Judge Jules and Seb Fontaine – All Radio 1

His Braund Reynolds Phonetic release (executive producer & songwriter) hit No.1 on The Box (video), with the Ten piece band appearing on Channel 4’s Sat. Morning show Popworld & Fabric. Hitting the the ‘A’ List on Radio 1’s Daytime Playlist – Signed to Virgin/Phonetic after interest/offers from Atlantic, Warner & Mercury

RR has performed live PA’s (Max Linen) at the Closing parties of ‘We Love Sundays’ on the Space Terrace & Manumission (10K People) – Ibiza as well as MTV in Dublin, Rob was also interviewed and his video shown on Channel 4’s Popworld, also featured in MTV’s Playlist

His ‘The Soulshaker’ production has been on the Becks Beer advert for the USA for the last two years

RR remixed the almost ‘biblical’ Joe Smooth 80’s club classic – ‘Promised Land’ (No.1 UK Club and DMC Buzz charts), with Smooth himself quoted as saying: “15 producers have remixed ‘Promised Land’ over the years, but the Max Linen version is my favourite of them all – a labour of love for the original.”

RR has compiled and mixed Four CD compilations to date, His Counter Culture II bestowed a ‘Best Album’ award from Record Mirror/Music Week

2004 Roger Sanchez pronounced Rob’s Max Linen ‘Flashback’ as his track of the year on Galaxy Radio

Rob Roar is renowned for whipping dancefloors into a frenzy, playing upfront eclectic House sets, playing material, most of which will turn out to be key clubbing anthems months down the line
